A New Chapter Begins: 1MT Technical and Leadership Institute

Friends, colleagues, and community,

Over the years, I’ve come to believe that Africa’s greatest wealth is not in its resources but in its people—especially the young men and women who, when given the right tools, can solve problems that impact millions.

That is why today, I’m humbled to officially announce the launch of the 1MT Technical and Leadership Institute. The Institute is a partnership between 1 Million Teachers and Informanos Analytics and Artificial Intelligence Inc. , as part of the broader 1MT Village Project—a 300+ acre living lab for sustainable futures in southwestern Nigeria.

We are a not-for-profit organization committed to empowering individuals across Africa with the technical, vocational, and leadership skills necessary to thrive. Our AI-first approach, combined with hands-on training, ensures learners gain not only cutting-edge skills but also the mindset, character, and leadership capacity to solve real problems and create meaningful value in their communities.

This journey began years ago in a conversation between Hakeem Subair (CEO of 1 Million Teachers) and me about how we could further impact future leaders in Africa. Today, thanks to the dedication of so many—including Cynthia Egbunonu, PMP®, Rizma Butt, Ambassador Prince Patrick, Suraj Shivaraj, and others—that vision is becoming a reality.

This launch is not the culmination of a dream, but the beginning of a responsibility. I am grateful for the chance to serve alongside so many of you.
